Immigrant or Native

While I cannot say that I love the terms immigrant  and native in reference to our digital lives, having been born in the 90s without a computer or a cell phone, I would consider myself a digital immigrant. I am one of those people who thinks that real life does not happen online. I have at one point or another participated in many different forms of social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Linkedin, Myspace, and Tumblr, have all at one point, been apart of my life and then subsequently deleted from my life. I chose not to participate in social media because I feel like it is a distraction from whats real, a place where people live a facade, one that I want no part of. I think there are a lot of benefits to social media but for me personally, the bad out weights the good.
